Presumption is that this lists both the William Newbold who moved to North Carolina in 1767, and his son William. In any case, it provides evidence that the elder William Newbold is alive in 1790. [S194] 47. Source notes that in 1724, 'John and his wife Rachel' sold their half of 'Bashan' to John's brother, Francis. Source does not indicate date of marriage except that it was "before 1724". [S136] MDAD 11:87 (Maryland Administration Accounts). Source states that "Newbold, John, m. by 21 Dec 1730, Rachel, admx of Henry Alexander of SO Co".
