Source lists two William Newbolds for 1790. Presumption is that this lists both the William Newbold who moved to North Carolina in 1767, and his son William. In any case, it provides evidence that the elder William Newbold is alive in 1790.

Source notes that in 1724, 'John and his wife Rachel' sold their half of 'Bashan' to John's brother, Francis. Source does not indicate date of marriage except that it was "before 1724".

Source states that "Newbold, John, m. by 21 Dec 1730, Rachel, admx of Henry Alexander of SO Co". Source advises that "A date given here is not the date on which the marriage occurred, but the date by which the marriage had taken place" This Source helps establish that marriage took place in Somerset County MD.
