Source notes that Nancy must have been under age 14 when she and brother Francis had William Newbold appointed their guardian. Also, source notes that in William's Will of 1800, he 'appoints' Robert Hood to be Nancy's guardian, strongly suggesting she is still under age 14 at that time. Thus, she is probably not born until after 1786 in order to be under 14 in 1800.

Source describes that one of her book's contibutors (Beverly Riggs) has a record in a family bible that has a mention ""Nancy Newbold, d. 2-11-1811". Logical deduction is that this refers to the sister of George and Francis Newbold.
