      In 1880 Census listing an almost 70 year old Robert Harris Newbold, the Census columns requesting place of birth of the individual's parents show "Del" for both Robert's father (Francis) and mother (Comfort).

      Source lists Francis Newbold birthplace as Maryland; his previous residences as Delaware and Kentucky; the first county he settled as Fayette in 1825; and birth date as 1789. The birthdate is off by about 10 years -- Francis married to Comfort Rodney in 1801 would probably not happen to a 12 year old!!! The other facts are consistent with other sources.
